Major announcement from Gary Bettman involving Corey Perry, and the official truth is that he has not yet determined if he can return
During a press conference in the last few minutes at the NHL Governors' meeting, Commissioner Gary Bettman was questioned about former Montreal Canadien Corey Perry.
Will he be allowed to play again in the NHL this season? See his response.
"Gary Bettman says he has not yet determined if Corey Perry will need to have a conversation with him if he wishes to resume his career in the NHL at some point." - Via Chris Johnston
"Bettman is comfortable with the results of the Blackhawks' investigation into Corey Perry and has not determined if the player will need to have a conversation/a hearing with him to return to play." - Via Elliotte Friedman
So there it is! There will be no further investigation, and as for his return to play, it is to be determined.
It's reminiscent of his summer speech regarding Logan Mailloux. In essence, he says "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." He will make his decision when Perry has also made his.
