Eight players at risk of leaving the Boston Bruins, including one very big name
There is dismay among Boston Bruins fans, since their team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Florida Panthers on Sunday night.
After a regular season with a record 65 wins, the majority of experts had given the Stanley Cup to the Bruins, and they even took a 3-1 lead in the series after the first four games.
But as we know, the Panthers won the next three games, including two in overtime, and the President's Trophy champions are already on vacation.
Well, a first round elimination is not the end of the world, and the most optimistic can say that the Bruins will bounce back next year because, after all, the team has an excellent foundation for the upcoming season.
However, even if the majority of the Bruins' key elements will be back in 2023-2024, there will also be several probable departures. Just look at the list of players who will be unrestricted free agents starting July 1st.

These are several players who could leave the Bruins, eight players that Don Sweeney is in danger of losing. It's a big deal, and it could completely change the face of his team.
While many experts expect that the majority of them will not be back next year, it is still unknown what Don Sweeney's plans are, as some of these players, who will be free agents, have played an important role on the team.
This is the case for Dmitry Orlov and Tyler Bertuzzi, both of whom were acquired at the trade deadline. The latter scored 10 points during the playoffs while Orlov proved to be a reliable defenseman.
On the other hand, for Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, we can assume they were on their last run with the Bruins, as at 37 years old for both, time, and especially injuries in the captain's case, are becoming a determining factor for the rest of their careers.
But you know, in the world of sports, we're never far from a surprise and a significant turnaround. It's quite possible that the two veterans have a surprise in store for us in the coming months.
