As his amazing wife, Meredith Gaudreau, and many family members were present for tonight's game between the Blue Jackets and the Florida Panthers, Johnny received a highly emotional tribute.
A tribute we won't soon forget.
A grand tribute for an absolutely incredible player, father, and person.
It's hard not to be moved by what happened during the opening faceoff of tonight's game in Columbus.
Watching the footage, I had a reaction very similar to that of Dean Evason, the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Another memorable moment was when Johnny Gaudreau's little daughter pointed to the sky and her dad's banner, as number 13 was raised to the rafters of Nationwide Arena.
We are thinking so much of Meredith Gaudreau, their loved ones, family, and especially Johnny Hockey's children.
We cannot even imagine the pain and confusion, even nearly two months after this tragedy.
We invite you to join us in sending another immense wave of courage to the Gaudreau family. Time passes, but the pain doesn't fade.
It's truly unfair. A 31-year-old young father, with his whole life ahead of him, should never leave so soon.
We're thinking of you, Johnny!
