Red Wings Head Coach Derek Lalonde Makes an Incredible Unnoticed Gesture Live at the Bell Centre
It really went unnoticed at the time, and almost no one talked about it, but the head coach of the Detroit Red Wings, Derek Lalonde, made a nice gesture last night at the very beginning of the game against the Montreal Canadiens.
As his team played at the Bell Centre, look at his starting lineup.
«The 5 players on the starting lineup for the Red Wings
- David Perron: native of Sherbrooke
- Joe Veleno: native of Kirkland
- Daniel Sprong: native of Amsterdam, grew up in Quebec
- Jeff Petry and Ben Chiarot: former CH players
The class of Derek Lalonde.»
- Via RDS Wow, hats off!
Did it have an impact or not? Good question, but let's note that Perron, Veleno, and Sprong (even Chiarot) really had very solid games.
We imagine it's not a coincidence.
Sprong finished with 1 goal 1 assist and Veleno scored a big goal, notably.
