A major announcement has just occurred in Edmonton!
Indeed, after a catastrophic start to the season (record of 3-9-1), the Oilers organization has finally decided to fire the team's head coach, Jay Woodcroft. This is a decision that was expected by many fans due to the recent struggles of the Alberta team.
"Edmonton proceeds with a coaching change. Jay Woodcroft is relieved of his duties. We thought that last night's victory would buy some time, but that's not the case." - Elliotte Friedman
Kris Knoblauch has been officially appointed as the new head coach of the Edmonton Oilers. This significant transition comes at a crucial time for the team.
Kris Knoblauch was the head coach of the Erie Otters of the OHL when McDavid played there. Hopefully they will find chemistry and quick!
