While forward Phillip Danault was being touted for his impeccable work in neutralizing the Edmonton Oilers' big forwards, yesterday it all came crashing down for Danault and the Kings.
Danault was stunned on Friday night after the 8-2 loss.
"It's a big slap in the face, and we have to regroup" - Danault
The Quebecer added that fortunately, it was only 2-1 to Edmonton.
"We have to have more confidence. We are a good team, we are not in the playoffs by chance. But we also have to learn. We have to play better under pressure, the execution has to be better. We have to get better in all aspects, defensively, in the neutral zone and on offense, everywhere."
That's a lot of work for a team that absolutely must win two of its next three or four games.
Relatively silenced until Friday night, the Oilers' big guns had some fun on the ice in Los Angeles:
2 goals 1 assist for Zach Hyman
1 goal 1 assist for Leon Draisaitl
3 goals for Evander Kane
2 goals 1 assist for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
2 assists for Connor McDavid
Next up: game number four tomorrow at 10:00 p.m., live from Los Angeles. For more details:
