As reported by our colleagues at Marqueur and Fanadiens, during the broadcast of the Montreal Canadiens game last night against the Edmonton Oilers, Dany Dubé raised a very interesting possibility.

For the past few weeks, big names in the NHL have been linking Josh Anderson's name to the Oilers, who are currently looking for exactly that type of player (with the loss of Evander Kane in the long run, it makes a lot of sense).

According to Dany Dubé, Oilers' prospect Xavier Bourgault is in the sights of general manager Kent Hughes, and a trade could be in the works.

Bourgault, a 20-year-old from L'Islet, was drafted 22nd overall in 2021 by the Oilers. He scored 36 goals and 75 points in just 43 games last season in Shawinigan.

This season he has 5 goals and 9 points in 19 games in the AHL.

Is a trade involving Bourgault, a 2023 draft pick and Josh Anderson realistic? Many seem to think so, so keep an eye on it.

We also learn here that Kent Hughes could ask his Edmonton counterpart to add a defenseman to the deal.
