Among the most recent, one of them involves the Montreal Canadiens and defenseman Joel Edmundson.
According to information provided by TSN tipster Pierre LeBrun during his most recent Insider Trading segment, a new team has been added to the veteran defenseman's derby, as talks have reportedly taken place between the Los Angeles Kings and the CH.
It must be said at the outset that the connection between the two teams is ideal for a trade between the two teams. The Kings have room on their payroll and need to add a defenseman of Edmundson's caliber to solidify the defensive squad for the playoffs.
L.A. has the opportunity to go a long way, but the team is in serious need of support on defense. In fact, they are a team to watch for the potential acquisition of Jakob Chychrun.
On the other side, Kent Hughes and the Tricolore could definitely get what they want in return for #44. The Kings have draft picks available, but also several young prospects already close to establishing themselves in the NHL.
We can think of Alex Turcotte, Samuel Fagemo, Lias Andersson, among others, but where it could become very interesting for the CH, is if Hughes could get defenseman Jordan Spence or Tobias Bjornfot in return.
A good option would be Spence, who is a right-handed offensive defensemen, something the organization currently lacks.
He is only 21 years old and has already had two dominant seasons in the AHL. He has 32 points in 38 games this season and the Kings have two other young right-handed defensemen ahead of him in Brandt Clarke and Helge Grans.
There is a strong possibility that a good deal for both teams could materialize.
This will be something to watch in the coming weeks.
