It smells like a return to action tomorrow for defenseman Joel Edmundson, and that means that a defenseman will have to be removed from the Montreal Canadiens' lineup by Martin St-Louis, who will indeed have a big decision to make.
Many are pointing to Chris Wideman to take his place, but the fact is that he is right handed, while Edmundson is left handed.
Will Martin St-Louis want to keep three right-handers, or will he compromise? That's the question we're asking, and we'll obviously have the answer in a few hours.
The defensemen most likely to be bailed out seem to be :
- Johnathan Kovacevic
- Chris Wideman
- Arber Xhekaj
The logic is simple, while Kaiden Guhle and Jordan Harris (the other two left-handers currently in uniform) seem to be untouchable right now because they impress and because St. Louis uses them so much.
David Savard has also secured his spot. That leaves the other three names mentioned above.
