As soon as Cole Caufield showed up in a Montreal Canadiens jersey, he stood out like he had a ton of games under the belt. His intelligence, positioning and devastating shot make him a unique player who is approaching exceptional status. In Montreal, fans have fallen head over heels in love with the little number 22. He has even charmed the few who previously disparaged him.
But Caufield doesn't just make an impression on us Montreal Canadiens fans, he also makes an impression on the NHL and hockey fans in general. For a "snapshot" of the countdown (40 days) to the first game of the season, the National Hockey League released a poster with Caufield in the lead.
A very nice promotion, him being with the Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid of this world. It's a small wink, but such a nice gesture from the NHL. And, to tell the truth, isn't he and Nick Suzuki the faces of the Montreal Canadiens for the future?
By the way, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that they will hold an intra-squad game on September 26, 3pm, which will be presented live from the Bell Centre. 7500 fans will be allowed in the amphitheatre's seats and sanitary measures (vaccination passport) will be applied during the event.
