He worked hard to get back and he did it.
As we told you yesterday, Petry's return was and will be interesting for several reasons. First, it forces Martin St. Louis to make tough decisions with his defensemen. Backs like Chris Wideman, Kale Clague, Corey Schueneman, Jordan Harris and eventually Justin Barron, are going to be bailed out. They can't all play and now we're adding a veteran to all this congestion.
In honor of his return to action, Petry closed out the game with a : 1 point collected (one assist), zero differential, one shot on net, four checks, three blocked shots. All this in just over 21 minutes of play.
After the game, Jeff Petry was asked about his new interim head coach, Martin St. Louis.
This is a pretty hot topic for Petry. (being asked about his coach) Remember of course his much publicized outing to criticize Dominique Ducharme, at the beginning of the season.
Regarding St-Louis, see what he had to say, as reported by my colleague Christian Matte (Marqueur.com):
He added this:
No controversy in sight between Petry and St. Louis this time. Will it be enough for the back to decide to withdraw his trade request? For now, all indications are that it won't.
