Former Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk is currently vying for a job with André Tourigny's Arizona Coyotes. The latter has earned a professional tryout with the desert team.
Galchenyuk will arrive in familiar territory, as he played with these same Coyotes in 2018-2019. However, it's a whole new atmosphere in Arizona, whereas in the past, it was Rick Tocchet who led the team.
Tocchet delivered some comments on his relationship with the American forward. The former Coyotes pilot tried to help Galchenyuk, but to no avail...
Despite this small point against Galchenyuk, Tocchet went on to talk about the skater's great qualities. He even hopes that the Coyotes will give him a second chance, because it would be a good "fit" for both sides.
This just confirms what we already knew, Alex Galchenyuk is not a center. He has the profile of a winger. He is not responsible enough defensively to play center and he is not able to feed his teammates consistently. A secondary role could be possible for him in Arizona. Will he be able to convince André Tourigny?
