One of the sequences that caught the attention of fans and observers during today's game between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Sens rookies was the fight between giant Arber Xhekaj and Zachary Massicotte.
It didn't end well for the young Senators player, against the imposing Xhekaj :
In the end, the Canadiens won by a score of 7-2. After the game, defenseman Arber Xhekaj revealed the reason why he threw down the gloves.
According to the six-foot-four young defenseman, a Senators player made offensive comments during the game, so Xhekaj didn't let it go.
He doesn't give any more details though, but it's getting a lot of reaction.
Either way, Xhekaj continues to win points with the fans and with his bosses. He is solid.
"I looked at the guys on the bench and smiled, they were expecting it, so I started laughing too." - Arber Xhekaj, on his fight
Xhekaj adds this:
"I wanted to talk to them (the referees), because one of the guys on their side made some bad comments and I wasn't going to let him," said the 21-year-old from Ontario. He has no right to say things like that. I explained the situation and made sure they were aware of it."
Very disappointing from the "guy on their side" involved, but a brilliant response from Xhekaj.
"Xhekaj mentions that he spoke to the officials, because someone from the Senators made offensive comments on the ice, and he ''wasn't going to let that go''.
