On Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils, Cole Caufield scored his 17th goal of the campaign. This beautiful goal was made possible, once again, by teammate Nick Suzuki, who made a great pass.
Caufield now has 16 goals since Martin St-Louis took over the helm of the club. We can say that he has unlocked, which is starting to make many dream...
One of them is the journalist of TVA Sports Renaud Lavoie. Long before his goal against the Devils, he had made a revealing statement about the young man.
"We see the trend with Cole Caufield, who is masterful. When you see that guy playing at a hellish pace, the projections are just under 50 goals in his case. It's easily going to be 40 goals, so we should expect that next season. In my opinion, Cole Caufield can easily be in the top 15, if he's healthy." - Renaud Lavoie
A big statement, but seeing him go right now, it's not impossible! Do you believe it?
Quietly not quickly, Caufield is moving up in the NHL rookie scoring rankings. Currently in 8th place, he is only four points shy of joining Tanner Jeannot and Dawson Mercer, who are tied with 41 points. The leader, Michael Bunting, currently has 56 points to his credit.
