The Columbus Blue Jackets posted some sad news today on their Twitter account. They announced that Patrik Laine's father, Harri, has passed away.
This is very sad news for the forward who seemed very close to his father. On many occasions, Patrik mentioned in interviews how grateful he was for all the sacrifices his father had made.
Currently sidelined for several weeks, Laine has only played nine games this season due to an oblique muscle injury. The former Jets star started the season with three goals and seven assists.
At least he will have the opportunity to be close to his family during this difficult time. Our thoughts are obviously with the Laine family during this tragedy.
