Carey Price's famous press conference, which we have been waiting for for several days, finally took place this afternoon, and the star goalie looked really good.
He made several jokes, he was extremely relaxed and it was nice to see.
The number 31 announced the following:
And this:
On the other hand, he also made some really sad statements, especially about his physical health:
"I can't train like a professional right now." - Carey Price
Price also added that he's still having a tremendous amount of trouble accepting that he may have played his last game in the NHL. You can tell it's affecting him and he's a real enthusiast.
"I can't believe how fast the years of my career have gone by." - Carey Price
We were treated to a nostalgic Carey at times, and a Carey who opened up about his sad new everyday reality:
"Carey Price says he has no plans to retire just yet - he's still trying to get to the point where he has less pain in his everyday life. Price says climbing stairs and carrying his children upstairs still causes him pain." - Priyanta Emrith
This is really sad. Carey has absolutely no regrets, but it must indeed be hard for him to live with this constant pain, every day, and not being able to always play with his kids.
We can better understand his reality.
