According to popular sports betting site Odds Shark, Cole Caufield is considered the second favorite to win the Calder Trophy, awarded to the Rookie of the Year, for the 2020-2021 season. His rating is +200, while Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks, who is ranked first, is at +0.
Following them is Swedish forward Lucas Raymond of the Detroit Red Wings at No. 3 with +300, then Alex Newhook of the Colorado Avalanche is at No. 4 with +400, while the fifth player on the list, Vasily Podkolzin of the Vancouver Canucks, has +750 odds.
For the big bettors who like to take big risks, Florida Panthers goaltender Spencer Knight could be an interesting option with his +800 odds, while Quinton Byfield of the Los Angeles Kings has +1200 odds and the other Anaheim Ducks representative, Jamie Drysdale, is at +2500. These are all talented players who will have a chance to win the precious trophy. The predictions are there, yes, but in the end, there are always surprises during the season.
Remember that Cole Caufield could be the first player since the legendary Ken Dryden in 1972 to win the Calder Trophy as a member of the Montreal Canadiens. A 50-year drought, which has a great chance of ending.
