Connor McDavid is the most electrifying player in the National Hockey League, and he's certainly in the top three best players in the league. The Edmonton Oilers' captain is a great person, while being straightforward and direct.
All of this brings me to a situation that McDavid did NOT accept at all, which was getting Chris Tanev's stick directly into his skates. A move that was clearly premeditated...
Here is the footage in question, where you can clearly see Tanev making his dangerous move. McDavid obviously couldn't avoid Jacob Markstrom.
"They obviously have the right to defend their net and keep me out of it, but when the stick is placed in the skates like Tanev did, it's a dangerous play for me and for the goalie. I don't want to be propelled towards the net and the goalie doesn't want that either. The only safe player is the defender who is careless with his stick. When the stick is placed in the skates and a player is blasted into the net with it, you'd hope that more penalties would be called!" - McDavid
How can you not agree with McDavid? Number 97 is absolutely right in his plea!
