The Edmonton Oilers lost 6-4 on Saturday night to the Ottawa Senators. The loss was the sixth in a row for Dave Tippett's cast and a 12th in the team's last 14 games. We are talking about a downfall, downright.

Captain Connor McDavid has lost his vocabulary when he appeared in front of the media. This is understandable, since synonyms are all used to explain the «why of the how» in such a repetitive manner.

On Saturday night, McDavid was a man of few words in front of the journalists on ZOOM:

«I'm not sure what to tell you. I'd like an answer for you. We talked about it over and over and over in that locker room, and obviously we haven't found an answer yet. That being said, we have to show up and we have three practice sessions before our next game, so we're going back to work,» he said.

A very sad observation. But all this shows the BIG gaps within this team: leadership, a good defensive and a quality number one goalkeeper. Leadership remains, in my view, the main weakness of this group.

Ken Holland has a lot of work to do to make this team better. He knows the recipe though, old Holland!
