The Tampa Bay Lightning have extended the contract of its general manager Julien BriseBois for five seasons.
On the job since September 2018, BriseBois is coming off back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team he built with Steve Yzerman over the years. He has one season remaining on his current contract with the Florida team. His new pact will take effect starting with the 2022-2023 season.
This must be a disappointment for those who were hoping to see BriseBois sign with the Montreal Canadiens next year, should Marc Bergevin leave. That doesn't mean he'll never come to Montreal, but not for now, at least.
