It was known that some of the features of Mullet Arena would not be completed until the season started, but seeing the visitors' locker room in an NHL arena being just a few curtains on an empty ice surface is something else...
Apparently, opposing teams will dress in this "room" and be transported to the actual ice surface, which isn't even close.
To be fair to the Coyotes, visiting teams will have to use it as a dressing room only for the first four games of the season, until the arena construction is completely finished.
It's imperative for the league to improve the Arizona situation as soon as possible, and frankly, they should already have relocation plans in the works. It makes you wonder why the NHLPA isn't getting in on the act as well.
It's really a disadvantage for any player who has to play for the Coyotes. The NHL, already clearly behind the other major sports leagues, does itself no favors with amateur demos like this at the professional level. A few weeks ago, there were reports from Nick Kypreos that Coyotes players were very upset with the way they were being treated.
The Coyotes first home game is this Friday when they host the Winnipeg Jets.
