Everyone knew when Phillip Danault left this summer, the Habs would lose a great defensive player. That was his trademark with the Tricolore and it continues to be so even though he is on the other side of the continent on a rebuilding team.
As you can see, Danault continues to excel at five-on-five on the ice. The trio he forms with Alex Iafallo and Adrien Kempe has not given up a single shot attempt since the start of the season at even strength.
It just goes to show how good the former CH number 24 is defensively when he's on the ice. This allows them to have a 69.39% positive Corsi while every other Kings line ends up with a negative Corsi, all with an average of five-on-five to seven minutes of playing time per game.
And guess who the Habs will face tomorrow?
Will he come to haunt his former teammates? We hope not, because the Habs need to keep winning after a catastrophic start to the season!
