On Thursday afternoon, it was learned that December Rookie of the Month Trevor Zegras was available for the Anaheim Ducks game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The 20-year-old athlete just spent a few days on the COVID-19 protocol.

He even participated in some fantasy this morning as the young American was back at practice. He thought he was a goalie and from what we can see, he's good on the glove side.

Anyway, Zegras' return to the game will have to wait, courtesy of his head coach Dallas Eakins, who will leave him out tonight. According to him, number 46 is not ready to return yet. A decision that made the young star rather bitter towards his instructor.

"Z" (Zegras) is not really happy with me right now. He won't be playing tonight. He'll practice tomorrow and he'll be back for the next game."

Probably they don't want to rush the organization's crown jewel to make sure he's 110% recovered. COVID-19 affects each individual differently, after all.

However, I can understand Zegras being upset, as he is a proud competitor.

UPDATED:

Thursday night's game between the Ducks and Wings has finally been moved to Sunday. This decision is related to the COVID-19, of course.

Zegras may be playing against the Red Wings, considering the turn of events.
