Passing by in the last few minutes on the podcast La Dose, TVA Sports' informant Renaud Lavoie added more on the Joel Edmundson file.
According to what he mentions, the Montreal Canadiens didn't necessarily intend to trade Edmundson, but that might be changing, simply because Kent Hughes currently realizes that he has an interesting value on the trade market.
"In the case of Joel Edmundson, there are still question marks about his future with the organization." - Renaud Lavoie
It's made clear here that just because he was just named an assistant captain doesn't mean he won't be traded.
Lavoie adds:
"The interest in him is really high, there are offers that have been made, and on the Canadiens' side, we realize that this guy, he has value." - Renaud Lavoie
We're talking about tempting offers here. So he really could be traded in the short to medium term. Would you be disappointed if that happened?
We don't have any more details about his exact value on the trade market, but we imagine it could eventually be similar to Ben Chiarot's (last season).
Let's say the CH receives an offer similar to the one for Chiarot (from the Florida Panthers last season), would you do it?
Let's recall the trade in question.
To the Panthers: Ben Chiarot
To the Habs: 2023 1st round pick, 2022 4th round pick, prospect Ty Smilanic
