It won't have been long, but Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have indeed confirmed two personnel moves.

Following tonight's very disappointing loss to the Anaheim Ducks, the organization has already announced the reassignment of young players Owen Beck and Logan Mailloux to the American Hockey League.

We may have hoped that Mailloux or Beck would get a chance to send a message to some players, but that will not be the case.

In short, here is the official confirmation from the Canadiens.

They will indeed be present tomorrow for the AHL All-Star Classic.

There could also be other financial reasons behind these changes, as it also allows the Habs to save a few dollars under the salary cap at the same time:

Logan Mailloux, 21 years old, has 22 points in 36 games this season in the American Hockey League, as well as three points in five games in the NHL.

He had an incredible start to the season, but it has been more difficult for the young player since.

Owen Beck, 20 years old, has 27 points in 41 games this season in the American Hockey League, as well as zero points in two NHL games.

They were only briefly with the Montreal Canadiens, and all indications are that Kent Hughes simply wanted to protect himself in case of injury, especially since Emil Heineman did not travel with his teammates.

It should also be mentioned that an awful virus seems to be circulating in the locker room at the moment.
