Even though the Canadiens are in the midst of a playoff race, Christian Dvorak's situation is sparking discussion. Many are wondering if he'll finish the season in Montreal or if Kent Hughes will trade him before the trade deadline.

According to Tony Marinaro, the recent recall of Owen Beck was not a coincidence. He believes the Canadiens wanted to see if Beck could take Dvorak's place in the lineup.

He wasn't there for long, but it still sent an interesting message.

«Beck, it's good to see him, because I don't think [Christian] Dvorak finishes the season with the Canadiens.

- Tony Marinaro»

In the end, Beck was sent back to the Rocket after just two games and played a few minutes on the fourth-line wing.

This suggests that he may not yet be ready for a significant role in the NHL, at least for now.

Owen Beck identified by the Canadiens as a replacement for Christian Dvorak?

It certainly seems to be the case.

But even though Beck isn't there full-time yet, he has everything needed to eventually become the third-line center.

He's solid defensively and can also contribute offensively.

Until then, Dvorak will probably stay alongside Josh Anderson and Brendan Gallagher on the third line.

But Kent Hughes might still decide to trade him if an offer comes up.

Even though the Habs want to make the playoffs, in my opinion, Dvorak is no longer part of the long-term plans.

The next few weeks will be important for him. Will the Canadiens keep him until the end of the season, or will Hughes let him go? Stay tuned!
