By the way, we're still waiting for the results of some matchups, before we know the final order. (and before we know the final rank of the Tricolore's second first round pick)
In the end, Montreal will have (at least) three picks, among the first 33. And that's not counting potential trades that could be made between now and the draft.
As reported by my colleague Christian Matte (Marqueur.com), one analyst has targeted Kent Hughes and the CH.
Analyst Byron Bader believes the Montreal Canadiens are the club with the best draft opportunities.
According to his extensive analysis, he believes Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton should come away with: the most NHL-caliber players (3.56) and also, the most star players (0.98).
Basically, according to advanced statistics, based on the past as well as on recent recruiting advances (and relying on the quality of the 2022 draft), the Habs should normally get away with one star player, plus three or four players who will be NHL "regulars" and have a successful career.

A promising picture!
So with 14 picks in the bank, it seems like a very realistic goal. Do you also believe that the Habs will come out of this draft with a star player?
