We knew that Chicago was potentially listening to extraordinary offers to possibly trade him, but we were far from the truth.
Seravalli just released his famous list of players who are most likely to be traded, and there is a huge statement on it.
DeBrincat is at the #1 position on the list, ahead of even Kevin Fiala (who will almost certainly be traded) and the tipster adds the following note:
Big deal. We're talking about a two-time 41-goal scorer who's only 24 years old, so he'll obviously be traded. This will be quite an acquisition for the team lucky enough to get their hands on him.
Imagine if the Montreal Canadiens traded an improved and developed version of Cole Caufield, and that's what it would be.
Why would the Blackhawks want to trade him? Excellent question honestly.
DeBrincat, 5 feet 7 inches, is one of the best young wingers in the NHL. He has never been injured and is coming off a solid 78-point, 41-goal season (last season he had 32 goals and 56 points in only 52 games).
He is currently earning a very reasonable 6.4 million per season, for one more year. He will then be a restricted free agent.
This will be a very big deal, when it happens.
