The Arizona Coyotes sent quite an uppercut to the face of the Montreal Canadiens last night with their 6-4 win over the Blackhawks.
Why?
With their win, the Coyotes have a better point percentage than the Habs, .266 in 32 games compared to .265 in 34 games for the Habs.
However, in terms of points the CH is still ahead of the Yotes with 18 points to Arizona's 17.
What does that mean?
The Montreal team has a much better chance of winning the draft lottery.
Being the worst team in the NHL is not pleasant, but there is a positive. That positive is Shane Wright. This young man is considered the potential first overall pick in the 2021 auction.
With this first pick, the Tricolore could build their roster for the future. With a center pairing of Nick Suzuki and Shane Wright, the Habs could make a splash in the medium term.
