Montreal Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux has been getting positive reviews for his prowess on the ice since his return to the game.
He has been extremely dominant on the ice, most notably offensively, with his seven points, including three goals, in four games.
*Remember that these statistics were taken before Sunday afternoon's game.
Former Habs scout Grant McCagg has been watching the 18-year-old defenseman very closely for quite some time. He projected Mailloux's 2021-2022 season to 68 games, the number of games played in a season for CHL teams, and the result is completely insane.
If Mailloux were to continue to produce at this rate over 68 games, he would collect no less than 94 points, including 40 goals... Yes, you read that right! That's a very above average offensive production.
McCagg also mentioned that he received a rather interesting text message from a scout of a rival team of the Montreal Canadiens about Mailloux. According to the scout, he has a chance to become a very special player.
What could it mean? The Montreal Canadiens are right on the target when it comes to hockey players. Mailloux has the potential to be a very important player for the Tricolore's defensive squad in a few years. It remains to be seen in which direction the Gorton/Hughes duo will go in this matter...
