With the 62nd overall pick of the Montreal Canadiens, on this second day of the 2022 NHL Draft, live from the Bell Centre, Kent Hughes has just drafted:
Lane Hutson!
Many experts consider this a great move by the Habs. They just picked up a small, very offensive, very dynamic defenseman who will do very well in the modern NHL. He is also said to be very smart, to have good "hockey IQ" and to be a "fantastic skater".
Hutson is compared to Quinn Hughes and Samuel Girard.
Hutson, 18, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 148 pounds. He is indeed small, but he has tremendous potential. He has 32 points in 27 games this season with the U.S. National Development Team. (plus 63 points in 60 games with the USDP)
He was ranked between 29th and 47th (and the CH got him with the 62nd pick)
Is he the next Adam Fox?
