As the trade market seems to be getting underway for the National Hockey League draft, a lot of interesting information is being revealed.

This one comes from the excellent New York journalist Arthur Staple (The Athletic):

"The New York Rangers are currently trying to trade Quebec's Julien Gauthier, for whatever they may be able to receive in return. They are also trying to find a trade partner to find a new home for goalie Alexandar Georgiev."

So it's clear here that these two players are absolutely no longer in the Rangers' plans, for next year.

In the case of Gauthier, a 24-year-old native of Pointe-aux-Trembles, the price to acquire him seems very low.

The former 21st overall pick (of the Hurricanes in 2016) has 18 points (5 goals) in 96 career NHL games. He was left out, by the Rangers, for the entire 2022 playoffs.

How would you like to see Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton offer a little something (a far out pick?) to New York, to go get him?

Quebecer Julien Gauthier is a restricted free agent this summer.
