The Habs' first pick in the last draft, Juraj Slafkovsky, arrived in Montreal a few days ago and CH fans are no doubt eager to see the big Slovak winger in action, as he will be taking part in the team's training camp which begins on September 22.
While there is speculation as to whether he will start the season with the Habs, Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan reported that the first pick in the last draft will start training camp with a few modifications to his already imposing physique.
In an interview with the player's father, journalist Anthony Martineau reports that the young forward has been gaining some size over the summer in addition to working on his explosion on skates.
Juraj Slafkovsky's father tells me that his son has mainly gained muscle mass in his upper body in recent weeks. He has also dedicated a large portion of his summer training to his explosion on skates."
We also learn that Slafkovsky will be even stronger, bigger and sharper on skates. Wow!
Let's just say that these revelations will make Habs fans want to watch the next training camp even more, especially since we already know that Slafkovsky is a fast skater with incredible potential.
It remains to be seen who his wingers will be during the team's first practices in September and what his role will be with the Habs in his first season in the NHL.
It's promising!
