Spending most of the year together, hockey players don't have too much trouble forming new friendships when they join a new group. This is also true at the highest level of hockey, the National Hockey League. Players arrive from different cities or even continents and end up developing affinities with the players on their new team.
At the Habs, there seems to be a strong new friendship between two of the organization's current center players. They are Ryan Poehling and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Both players were drafted in the first round in 2017 and 2018 by the Habs.
As you can see from the photos, the two young players seem to be getting along very well as they participate in various activities together. When training camp starts at the end of September, the two young men will be competing against each other to secure their positions with the big club.
However, will there be room for both of them in the Montreal Canadiens lineup? That's the question we have to ask ourselves. Sure, KK has a head start on Poehling, but could the American surprise us this season?
