Jake Allen's wife makes an announcement and the Montreal Canadiens confirm everything with an official statement for a good cause
In the last few hours, the Montreal Canadiens have released a beautiful official statement to announce a significant initiative, and it is Jake Allen's partner, Shannon, who made the announcement.
And here is an excerpt from the Canadiens' official statement on this matter.
"The partners of the Canadiens players have taken to heart the situation of women and children victims of domestic violence by raising funds for Carrefour pour Elle, a support and shelter home.
The very first center of its kind in Quebec, Carrefour pour Elle opened its doors in 1975 and helps an average of 90 women and 115 children victims of violence each year, who reside on-site while being able to benefit from weekly support groups.
The idea recently emerged within the group of Canadiens partners to support Carrefour pour Elle in its most pressing needs. Quickly, they combined their efforts to assemble a series of sought-after items put up for auction for the Carrefour pour Elle foundation, from October 12 to 19. The auction will culminate in a cocktail dinner during which the final amount raised will be unveiled.
The Tricolore players, Geoff and Kate Molson, as well as the Canadiens Children's Foundation, have all rallied to the cause to offer sticks, signed jerseys, game tickets, and even post-game meetings with David Savard and Nick Suzuki.
