Over the past few weeks, there have been many rumors about the Habs and the Rangers regarding a potential trade.
The names of Tyler Toffoli and Ben Chiarot have been brought up a few times.
However, according to journalist Arthur Staple, Jeff Gorton and Chris Drury, the Rangers' GM and Gorton's former colleague, have been in talks to send Artturi Lehkonen to New York.
The Rangers are looking to add depth to their roster as they look to make a run at the playoffs next spring.
Lehkonen would be a great addition to the Blue Shirts, considering his reputation as a perennial worker. He could also be a second or third tier option offensively.
It remains to be seen what direction Gorton will take regarding his many veterans, who could potentially change addresses. One thing is clear, Lehkonen's value is likely to skyrocket, and very soon. Remember, the NHL trade deadline is March 21.
