Mathieu Darche is, according to many, a candidate of choice for the position of general manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
His boss at the Tampa Bay Lightning, Julien BriseBois, confirmed what many people know, Mathieu Darche is THE candidate the Habs needs.
He praised his colt with a great layer of transparency and professionalism during an interview with The Athletic.
"He really has a phenomenal personality, very good interpersonal skills, very good emotional intelligence. His experience as a player in the NHL, but also in Europe and in the minors shows a lot of resilience, perseverance and dedication. And his passion for the game."
"If given the chance to lead somewhere, I'm sure he will do very well for the same reasons I knew he would succeed in the role I had for him. His leadership skills, his interpersonal skills, his expertise in hockey and management in general make him an ideal candidate for any organization, especially in the NHL."
These are nice compliments that BriseBois paid to his President of Hockey Operations.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Habs has Darche in high regard in their candidate list. It remains to be seen if he will become Jeff Gorton's dance partner in turning around the Montreal Canadiens.
