Who can't wait until 5:00 p.m. tonight to see the Montreal Canadiens' 23-man roster? If it's obvious on the offensive side, it's a little less obvious on the defensive side...

On defense, the Habs will be without their excellent top-4 from last year, which was composed of Shea Weber, Jeff Petry, Joel Edmundson and Ben Chiarot. This year, the season will be launched with a VERY different and, more importantly, much lighter top-4 (in every sense of the word).

That being said, while Petry, Chiarot, David Savard and Alexander Romanov were expected to make up the top-4 at the beginning of the season, the 3rd pairing is still unclear at this point. Nevertheless, Yvon Pedneault, like many of us, believes that Kaiden Guhle will start his season in Montreal while Edmundson is away.

He had a great camp and his maturity makes him a must have, at least for the first nine games of the season. Let's not forget that he plays like a veteran and is already 25 years old in his head, despite being 19.

In short, Guhle should hear some good news by 5 p.m., unless he already knows.
