After only six games in the NHL, Kaiden Guhle is already well respected by his peers. The Canadiens' defenseman is the second most used player by Martin St-Louis since the beginning of the season behind David Savard.
NHL reporter Nicolas Ducharme made a solid comparison between Guhle and a former Habs defenseman. According to him, number 21 is the most complete defenseman since none other than Ryan McDonagh.
We all remember the deal that sent McDonagh to New York in exchange for Scott Gomez, among others. It was definitely Bob Gainey's worst trade.
Guhle has all the makings of a star defenseman in the NHL. Tough, solid defensively, very good offensively and good anticipation are among his many skills.
One thing is certain, Guhle is probably the best legacy of the Bergevin era along with Cole Caufield.
