Since last Saturday, the CH players have been on vacation, but the club's management team is still far from taking time off. A lot of work is on the table for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton to rebuild the club.
On Wednesday morning, the CH's GM answered questions from LP Guy and Gilbert Delorme on 91.9 Sports. We learned a little more about the kind of team that inspires Hughes. He even named four teams currently in the playoffs that he particularly likes.
The GM first named the Florida Panthers and the Colorado Avalanche for their offensive aspects, while the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins attract his attention on defense.
"I really like Florida for their speed, their depth, their scoring ways. I think they've surpassed the league offensively. Colorado is also an impressive team on the offensive side of the ball."
"I also like on the other side the defensive aspects of teams like Carolina and Boston. Then, I think it takes a mix to win a Stanley Cup. But how much of the mix is more offensively oriented or more defensively oriented, I find a lot of times it depends on the personnel and your coach."
