In the last few minutes, the New York Rangers were on the ice in Sunrise, Florida, in preparation for their game tomorrow against the Panthers, and the verdict was in for Alexis Lafreniere.
Head coach Gerard Gallant has just unveiled his new lineup and has officially brought Quebecer Lafreniere back into the lineup. (He was left out of his team's most recent game)
An important decision
Alexis Lafreniere is now on the left side of the Rangers' third trio, along with Filip Chytil and Jimmy Vesey.
Recall that Gallant had been harsh on Lafreniere earlier this week, mentioning that he needed to be better, as the youngster had been given the chance to play with good players, without taking advantage of it to have success.
Lafreniere, who has 5 goals and 12 assists in 36 games this season, will try to recover and avoid being scratched from his team's lineup again. It's starting to get tough in this one, but for now, Lafreniere will get his chance on the third line.
Update:
The Rangers just officially announced his return to the lineup.
