As the June 1st date is quickly approaching, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are truly letting some prospects slip away, including two promising goaltenders.
Indeed, the Montreal Canadiens will soon have to make a final decision regarding two goaltender prospects, Frederik Dichow and Joe Vrbetic, as reported by Marc Dumont of Montreal Hockey Now.
If Dichow and/or Vrbetic are not signed within four days, they will no longer be prospects of the Montreal Canadiens, which would be disappointing.
Dichow was chosen in the fifth round in 2019, while Jakub Dobes (6'5) and Joe Vrbetic (6'6) were added in the following years.
The Canadiens now need to assess whether Vrbetic and Dichow deserve a contract.
The young goaltender Dichow played 16 games this season with HC Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League. At the age of 22, he maintained an average of 2.76 goals allowed and an efficiency rate of .898, and he has been dazzling in recent days, at the 2023 World Championships, in front of the Danish cage.
Would you sign him, or let him go for nothing?
