He was recalled urgently, but due to some specific provisions, he then had to quickly return to the junior ranks.
The CH later explained the situation, while mentioning that young Joshua Roy was also considered for an emergency recall.
A major announcement coming for Joshua Roy in the next few hours?
As Charles-Alexis Brisebois of "DansLesCoulisses" mentions, it should come as no surprise if Joshua Roy is recalled by the Montreal Canadiens in the next few hours.
Why?
Because the Habs could really find themselves in exactly the same situation against the Sens.
Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis will probably not be able to field 12 healthy forwards tomorrow night, especially considering that Christian Dvorak, Kirby Dach and Evgenii Dadonov were all absent from practice today. (minor injuries)
Plus, with the long break from the All-Star Game, the players will then have time to recover. They just need to "survive" tomorrow's game against Ottawa.
The CH could therefore recall a junior player tonight (or tomorrow AM), and the logical candidate would be Joshua Roy.
Indeed, as Marc-Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu mentioned, Roy could make his NHL debut tomorrow at the Bell Centre.
There are other options as well, but know that Roy's imminent recall is a real possibility, especially since the CH plays a game tomorrow, and doesn't play again until February 11th.
This is a great opportunity to offer a small reward to Roy (and the fans) while allowing a regular player to recover at 100%.
Also note that the Laval Rocket (AHL) needs its players and is also solidly affected by injuries.
Would you do it? Would you call Roy back for a game?
