When a reporter asked Joel Armia about Jesperi Kotkaniemi's departure this morning, the Finnish winger was adamant he was surprised. In KK, Armia was losing a close friend, as well as a golden teammate.

"I was a little surprised," he said, mentioning in passing that he talks regularly with KK.

It's hard to say if it was negative or positive, but he had to be disappointed with KK's departure. Armia will play a first preseason game tonight. He will play alongside Jake Evans and Rafael Harvey-Pinard.

Chris Wideman, recently acquired via free agency, delivered a real first press conference. According to him, playing for the Montreal Canadiens is a real dream for him.

The 31-year-old just spent a full year in Russia, where he had to work hard to get a second chance in the NHL. He made several sacrifices to get that chance, including spending his honeymoon in Russia...

When Wideman has to explain to his friends how it feels to play for the Montreal Canadiens, he immediately refers to the New York Yankees in the MLB.
