In the last few minutes, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis was speaking to the media in anticipation of tonight's game, and he had some interesting comments.

He announced that Nick Suzuki will play tomorrow's game, he confirmed that Josh Anderson and Sean Monahan will be in uniform tonight, and he gave an interesting ultimatum to his young forward Juraj Slafkovsky.

So far, Slafkovsky has not confirmed his place in the Habs lineup to start the 2022 season, and he will have to give more if he wants to avoid starting the season in the American Hockey League.

Especially with the major surplus of forwards in Montreal, Slafkovsky could get the nod and start with the Laval Rocket.

On this subject, Martin St-Louis made no bones about it and was very direct:

"Martin St-Louis, about putting Juraj Slafkovsky in tonight's lineup: tonight will be a good test for him. The preseason is already coming to an end, so you're going to see better opposing lineups and a better caliber of play, so we're looking forward to seeing how he does (against that caliber of play). We're looking forward to seeing how he'll look against NHL-caliber lineups."

- Martin St. Louis, reported by Priyanta Emrith

It seems to be understood here that tonight's game will be pivotal for Juraj Slafkovsky.

If he impresses and plays well, he drastically increases his chances of starting the 2022 NHL season, if not, he may have to join the Laval Rocket. To be continued!

It will be really interesting to see him go tonight!
