As we know, Cole Caufield has been a changed player since Martin St-Louis took over the bench.
The young forward has 26 points, including 14 goals, in 24 games and was named NHL Rookie of the Month for March. If it wasn't for his rough start to the season, where he scored only eight points in 30 games, he might be on his way to being named rookie of the year.
In Saturday night's game against the Lightning in Tampa Bay, he scored his team's first goal of the game in the second period and his team came out on top by a score of 5-4 in a shootout. After the game, TVA Sports reporter Renaud Lavoie spoke with the CH coach and he shared a little secret about number 22.
Let's just say that it shows all the confidence that St-Louis can have in his young forward. Moreover, the coach was making a return to Tampa Bay, the city where he had excelled during his playing career, but on this subject, he had a clear message for his players on the occasion of his return to Florida.
"It's nice to get out of here with the win, but it's not important to be in Tampa Bay, what's important to me is to coach the CH, no matter where."
Now that's a team guy, just like he was back when he was running the show with the Lightning.
