Maxime Talbot, who has been working for RDS for a few years now, will return to a hockey locker room, but as an assistant coach and not as a player. Talbot is an excellent communicator and is very good at popularizing the hockey game, as seen with his companion Bruno Gervais on their podcast "Max et Bruno".

That said, Talbot is now part of Joël Bouchard's team behind the bench of the Anaheim Ducks' affiliate team, the San Diego Gulls. This hire makes VERY good sense as Bouchard loves to surround himself with a player who played the game and was a true warrior, just like Alex Burrows.

Talbot is nothing short of a legend in Gatineau/Hull and Pittsburgh because he has proven time and time again that he is a "Bob Gainey" warrior, playing with serious injuries and having success. He will bring that aspect to San Diego in his first coaching stint.

In 704 games in the NHL with the Penguins, Flyers, Avalanche and Bruins, the former pest collected 204 points, including 91 goals. He was also a key cog in the Pittsburgh Penguins' Stanley Cup win in 2009.
