As you know, last night the Montreal Canadiens lost their third consecutive game.

This time, Martin St-Louis' team lost 5-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets and probably delivered its worst performance since the coaching change.

However, host Jean-Philippe Bertrand (TVA Sports), defenseman Joel Edmundson, and many others, refuse to talk about the end of the "Martin St-Louis effect".

Edmundson "went to bat" for his coach and completely cleared him of any responsibility for the loss.

Still, Michel Bergeron is adamant: that's still seven losses in the last nine games and that's worrisome.

Especially since the team has been allowing an (unfortunately) impressive number of shots on net for the past several weeks.

Bergeron goes further:

"It's unacceptable. Even if the Habs are eliminated, they have to fight continuously for 60 minutes on the ice... that's not what's happening right now. They're crooked with no sense. I hear they play man for man on defense... it doesn't work in the NHL, it never has... Martin St. Louis had no answers tonight." - Michel Bergeron

The former NHL head coach (and now TVA Sports analyst) is not a fan at all of the defensive system that advocates man-for-man coverage. He prefers (by far) zone coverage.

Do you agree with him?
