Accepting the fact that Shea Weber played his last game in a Habs uniform, the Tricolore will have to find a new captain to lead the team. But who should take on this enormous responsibility?
Michel Bergeron spoke on this hot topic. Obviously, there are many who see Brendan Gallagher wearing the C on his jersey with the departure of Weber. However, the Tiger would take a different route for the next Habs captain.
According to Bergeron, it is Nick Suzuki who should be named the next captain of the Sainte-Flanelle. It is clear that Suzuki is an important piece of the Habs youth core. He would be an excellent choice for the management.
In addition, his experience at the All-Star Game has allowed him to rub shoulders with big names like Patrice Bergeron, Claude Giroux and Connor McDavid. This could help him in his development.
Suzuki is still very young, he is only 22 years old. The organization could also consider naming an older captain as a transition. This will be something to watch before the start of the next campaign as Kent Hughes has assured us that there will be a new captain next year.
And you, what would be your choice for the next Habs captain?
