According to David Ettedgui, the Montreal Canadiens will have a woman as assistant general manager, which would be a first for the NHL. So it means that the head coach will have a GM and an assistant GM, in addition to Jeff Gorton, who, to everyone, is the real executive director of the Habs.
That said, there are excellent candidates for the Montreal Canadiens. We are talking about Danielle Sauvageau and Émilie Castonguay, two ladies who seem to be different from the others. Also according to Ettedgui, Castonguay would be the ideal candidate to fulfill these functions.
In short, Geoff Molson said it during his last public appearance: the goal of the organization is to bring diversity, so grafting women into his hockey organization chart, something that should have been done long ago. In hiring a position, there is no gender. You take the most qualified person, regardless.
